I have decided to hike the Continental Divide Trail southbound in 2010, starting hopefully around June 15th, although I'll make a final decision later, based on snowpack. I hiked the PCT in 2008 and 2009 northbound, but a new trail is calling my name. I'm excited to do something fresh and something more difficult than the PCT.

I kept a reliable journal of my PCT 2008 experience on my personal blog, but in 2009 I dropped the ball and did not journal reliably. I can't say for sure I'll be the most reliable journalist, but I'll sure try. I think it being the first time for this trail says positive things about how reliable my journal will be, as my first time on the PCT often had me writing entries simply as a way to process the days events.

At any rate, I hope to hear from other prospective CDT2010 southbounders. Any time I make a significant effort towards CDT planning, I'll be sure to update this journal!
