Frederick Original Ale Makers FOAM meeting on Monday night
Buttons and I took it easy in Millinocket on Thursday, getting our laundry done and figuring out where to go from there. On Friday we got a ride to Medway from Paul, the owner of the hostel. We took a bus to Bangor, then another to Boston, where my brother Mike picked us up and drove us to the house of my other brother (Sean) in Somerville. On Saturday Buttons left to take a bus to Vermont so she can finish the section she skipped in southern New England. I got to see my brothers, their wives, and my nieces and my father at Sean's house. We celebrated the third birthday of his daughter Isabel.
I spent Sunday hanging out in Davis and Harvard Square, then went out for barbecued ribs with my brothers and my friend Dave. It was great to catch up with everyone.
On Monday I caught the 6:15 AM train to Washington DC and then took the MARC commuter train out to Frederick. I was greeted at the door by my cats. I thank Paul Dame for doing such a great job of looking after them and my house while I was away. It's so great to be home! And I made it back in time to attend my homebrew club meeting!
The Appalachian Trail (A.T.) is more than 2,175-mile long footpath stretching through 14 eastern states from Maine to Georgia. Conceived in 1921 and first completed in 1937, it traverses the wild, scenic, wooded, pastoral, and culturally significant lands of the Appalachian Mountains.
