I’ve been off the trail for more than a year now and even though I swore I would never hike so far again, I’m getting nostalgic and missing the trail. Plus, the memories of the most miserable bits are starting to fade. While reminiscing about my hike, I compiled this list of useless statistics and thought I would share:

Total days on the trail: 139

Days hiking more than 10 miles: 102

Nero days (arbitrarily defined as less than 10 miles): 7

Zero days (including 15 days off at home): 30

Total miles hiked on the PCT: 2448.4

Average miles per day excluding zeroes and neroes: 23.5

Longest day: 39.2 miles (the last day)

Shortest day: 2.4 miles (slack packing from KM store to the campground)

Days over 30 miles: 18

Days over 25 miles: 39

Pairs of shoes used: 4

Resupply points: 25

Mailed resupply packages: 9

On-trail support crew visits: 11

Longest distance between resupplies: 174.4 miles/9 days (Kennedy Meadows to VVR)

Shortest distance between resupplies: 29.4 miles/1.5 days (VVR to Reds Meadow)

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a 2,650-mile national scenic trail that runs from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington. The PCT traverses 24 national forests, 37 wilderness areas and 7 national parks. The PCT passes through 6 out of 7 of North Americas ecozones.
