Pacific Crest Trail FAQ
The PCT FAQ is designed to help you find the information you are looking for. While it doesn't answer every
possible question, hopefully it will introduce you to questions you haven't considered yet. The FAQ will surely
point you in the right direction.
The FAQ is collection of contributions by many hikers who have gone before you. They have many different insights. If you have knowledge to share, tell us in the FAQ forum.
Pacific Crest Trail Google Map
This is the map for exploring the PCT on-line. This map has a highly detailed trail trace from the USFS and
custom addtions such as mileages, elevations, bookmarking precise locations and many user definable marker
categories. Being a Google Map it also has different map types like Topo and Satellite. Also it has Streetview and
supports the Google Earth Browser plugin for a 3D map of the trail.
You will not find a more detailed PCT map on the web.
Pacific Crest Trail Photo Atlas
The photo atlas brings the trail to life with over 4,000 photos! This includes geographic features, plants,
animals and other places and subjects along the PCT.
Not only can you see 600+ unique geographical locations, Postholer Map links show you precisely where the feature is located.
This wonderful feature is made possible by Postholer Journalists. It will be updated regularly as photos are added.
Mail Drops
Here you'll find a map of all the popular mail drop locations along the entire PCT. Post Offices, private residences and places
of business that accept mail drops, with mailing addresses and special instructions if any.
Snow Page
Keep up to date with developing snow conditions along the trail. You'll find current and historical snow amounts,
temps and links to official resources. Weather forecasts all along the trail, too.
Equestrian Information
For those who are planning a long ride along the PCT. Whether you're a section or thru-rider you'll find some
good information here. Also, check the Stockman forum.
